Erica Willoughby
Head of Advisory Board

Erica holds a full license from the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA). She completed her studies in New Zealand Immigration Law and Practice at Massey University in 2007, and has an extensive background in business management, marketing, and recruitment.

Passionate about people and helping them kick-start their futures in New Zealand, Erica finds that her role as a licensed immigration adviser to be one of the most rewarding roles she has occupied in her professional life.

“I established Silver Fern Immigration as a result of my own negative experience with an immigration adviser. My family and I were left in the lurch during our immigration process from South Africa to New Zealand. This was in 2003 prior to licensing. We lost a lot of money and time; and came very close to going back to South Africa. I wanted to establish a company that made the whole ‘immigration experience’ less stressful, cost effective, and with as little ‘waiting time’ as possible. I wanted to provide a service that gave our clients peace of mind, and allowed them to hit the ground running in New Zealand.”

As the founder of Silver Fern Immigration, Erica is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients and is committed to their success. She enjoys applying immigration law to real-life circumstances, tackling tough situations and communicating with Immigration New Zealand on behalf of her clients. “It is really rewarding to work with such a range of people and organisations – public to governmental sectors. My true interest lies in people’s personal stories.” Erica is also an active member of the immigration advisory industry.

Erica was born and raised in South Africa and immigrated to New Zealand with her family in 2003. She is married to a loving Kiwi husband, and is the mother of two lovely young men. The adopted mother of Patch and Shogi, a dashing Fox Terrier and a charismatic Japanese Shin, Erica enjoys watching them grow and playing with them. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, cooking, sewing, craft-making, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.
